I’m a Full Stack Software Engineer in the team responsible for customer self-service on Agoda. It helps customers manage their bookings easier in one stop. Customers can quickly check, amend or cancel their bookings without having to call or email our customer service.
What I can say is that the people here are amazing. Working with competent people inspires and improves me in so many aspects. As a developer, we work with other developers, product owners, designers, as well as our legal and marketing stakeholders to ensure the technical aspect is aligned with business roadmaps. The workplace culture is the first thing I immediately noticed. We are quick, love to experiment, and are flat in our communication here at Agoda. I’d never had the experience of asking a technical question and having a director respond! We also do a lot of experiments and measure the performance of every piece of code we write.
My team helps customers find more deals and lower prices on Agoda. We assist our Partner Development team in reaching out to hotels quickly and accurately, for them to find the best price for our customers. We also make it easier and faster for the hotels to contact our partner support team.
I started my journey at Agoda as a Project Coordinator about four years ago when there were only a handful of people on the Brand team. As the team was still forming and quite new, I got to do almost everything, from project-managing internal design requests and managing the team’s budget to inviting creative agencies to participate in a brand identity pitch. Fast forward to today, I’m supported by two amazing team members and overseeing bigger-scale global brand projects.
I’m very proud to be part of the Brand team at Agoda. The working environment here is very international and diverse. In Partner Development, we represent Agoda to our hotel partners to offer our best consultation regarding the most updated trends or any ongoing events around the globe that affect the travel industry. We provide exclusive products and services that are highly beneficial to our hotel partners with the goal of increasing their revenues. This strategy not only strengthens our relationship with them but also generates value for Agoda.

At Agoda, years’ worth of work usually happens in a few months. People cut through the bureaucracy and move fast. All the fast-paced work is done by an extremely smart and entrepreneurial peer group. I derive my energy and motivation from such an environment. It keeps me excited and growing. My team is growing the Flights business for Agoda – a new vertical that moves the company towards becoming a versatile travel platform. As part of turning a young business into a prominent vertical for the company, I help drive the P&L, make investment decisions in marketing, manage pricing and build relationships with partners. My role combines startup-like hustle with the structures and complexities of a large company.
Agoda offers a lot of flexibility and opportunity in the career development space. In my five years here, I’ve been in four roles and two teams within the People team. I’ve moved in different directions, sometimes vertically and sometimes horizontally. The different roles have allowed me to explore new opportunities and challenges and, most importantly, learn new skills and continue to grow in my career journey. Every day I get to interact with incredibly talented, smart, and humble colleagues. I love the diversity we have. In 2018, I joined Agoda as a customer support specialist for the Vietnamese market. I still remember that my first month was super challenging, with days filled with new concepts, procedures and systems. We use a lot of technologies, even in the customer support team.
A few months into the job, I managed to master all products and processes and handled cases confidently. Aside from assisting with customers’ requests, I later acted as the team’s training buddy, sharing knowledge with new joiners and helping them during their probation period. In 2019, I moved to the Social Media team. I have been given countless opportunities to grow professionally during my time here. I am also part of the Upskill Program where I supported managers with various projects.
What’s kept me here at Agoda is the people. During my 4+ years journey, I’ve got to meet and work with a lot of great individuals, who are truly talented, supportive and encouraging in times of need. Some started out as colleagues and eventually turned into best friends whom I share incredible life moments with.
During my very first weeks at Agoda, I was so overwhelmed by Agoda’s scale and products, which, at the same time, made me feel so excited to be a part of such a giant in the industry. Thanks to the many training sessions and other senior members of the team, it only took me a few months to get used to our move-fast environment.

I started my career at Agoda as a Partner Program Manager 5 years ago. I was initially in charge of scaling partner programs in the Indochina region, but my responsibility quickly expanded into other countries in Southeast Asia and parts of Africa.
Later in 2018, I was challenged to start the commercial team we now call Travel Distribution. It has been super exciting to hire and develop tomorrow’s leader and to see this business unit grow from virtually nothing into an essential part of Agoda’s business. In 2014, when I first joined Agoda, I was in charge of a small group of five engineers. Impressed by how data-driven Agoda management was, I wanted to build the technology to support our vision. I ultimately had the chance to oversee the machine learning, data platform, and data science teams, rising to the positions of Chief Data Officer and, most recently, Chief Technology Officer. I’m proud to lead such a fantastic team of professionals, and I look forward to seeing how far we can all develop together. Agoda is a tech company with the strictest meaning of the word. As a Data Engineer in our Business Intelligence team, I work on several projects to satisfy our users’ data requirements. Agoda is a data-driven firm, so for us to stay competitive, it is my team’s duty to deliver accurate data in a timely manner. Using our cutting-edge tools, we created a data warehouse to assist Agoda in utilizing this data.

I started my journey as a Partner Development Specialist and am now a Team Captain. Our team develops strategies for Agoda’s accommodation partners. We seek to find the right solutions for our partners, support their accounts, and help them to generate more value and growth.

I’m currently part of the Mobile Platform team, which focuses on developer experience. I started my Agoda journey as an intern in the Data team and decided to return to the company after graduating from university. I first joined the Machine Learning team as a Software Engineer and then moved to the BI Marketing team, where I’ve been for the last three years. As a Business Intelligence Developer, I process and visualize data to provide our team with valuable insights for their marketing decisions.

As a Team Manager in the Customer Experience Group, I lead a team of frontline agents by enabling, empowering, and supporting them to bring maximum value to our customers. My role centers around two main questions: “How do I develop my team?” and “How can I support them to achieve their goals?”
I’ve been an eLearning Developer at Agoda for three years, and my role is to develop impactful and meaningful online training materials. My team creates interactive eLearning modules and training videos, which we direct, shoot, and edit ourselves. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding experience, and my skillset has grown immensely during my time here, especially regarding communication. I’ve learned how to collaborate with stakeholders and effectively give and receive feedback.
I was looking for new job opportunities back in the day and came across a position Agoda was hiring for in Bangkok. It felt like the right step in my career, and I wanted to challenge myself by jumping into the unknown since I had never been to Bangkok before.
I love the uniqueness of this city. There’s always something happening in Bangkok, and endless places to discover and explore, from street food stalls to hidden gems tucked away in small streets. And if you need a break from busy city life, it’s easy to change the scenery to beautiful beaches down south or mountain views up north.

Earlier this year, I went on a fantastic scuba trip to North Andaman in Thailand with Agodans. Now, I’m co-organizing Agoda’s first golf tournament for 30 people, including both experienced players and beginners. I was fortunate to grow fast and get exposed to various departments, from Product and Marketing to Supply and Customer Experience.
