You’ve found an interesting role at Agoda, polished up your resume, and submitted your application. What comes next? If your profile is a good match for the role, you’ll progress to the next step, which will likely be an assessment. Each team and department at Agoda has a unique assessment process, so it’s important to understand the format of the test that you’ll be taking.

If you’re applying for a Tech role

For Tech roles like Data Engineering and Security, we use a coding test to evaluate candidates’ coding proficiency, particularly in Data Engineering with Python and SQL. For other Tech roles, like Backend, Frontend, Data, and IT Operations, depending on what you’ve applied for, the test might focus on various technologies or technical skills.

If you’re applying for a non-Tech role

For non-Tech roles, we will ask you to take an aptitude test. If you’re applying for a Marketing or Product role, you’ll be tested on your business analytical acumen. For Marketing, there is also a communication stage where you will be asked to record a video of yourself speaking about assigned topics.

For the Supply team and corporate roles in the People, Finance, and Legal Teams, we assess your skills in stakeholder management, data literacy, and job-related expertise. These tests can involve numerical, statistical, and logical thinking.

For Strategic Partnerships, you’ll encounter challenges involving graphs, charts and logical reasoning assessment to assess your suitability for the role.

Within our Customer Experience Group, if you apply for a Customer Service agent role, your assessment will cover communication, language skills, and problem-solving. The questions will also assess your numerical thinking and occupational personality. If you’re interested in Customer Service operational roles, you will take assessments on data literacy and stakeholder and project management. These tests can involve numerical, statistical, and logical thinking questions.

Our top tips

Assessments typically last between 30 minutes to an hour. Our advice? Do your research and prepare well. Familiarize yourself with the test by doing a practice round to boost your speed, accuracy, and overall confidence. Try to minimize distractions and make sure you have a stable internet connection.

Good luck with your assessment!
