Case Interviews

Our interview process will require you to think like a scientist and tackle business cases effectively. To ensure that you’re approaching the questions the right way, follow the tips below:

Interview Tips

1. Visit the Agoda website and mobile app. Do your research on the product, the company and our marketing strategies, and form an opinion on the user experience.

2. Prepare to be asked about SQL/Python/ R queries, basic to complex pseudo coding exercises, A/B testing, traffic, conversion, structuring a hypothesis, cannibalization, and the like. Even if this is not within your area of expertise, it is highly recommended that you do some research in advance.

3. Have a pen and paper handy — it is likely that you will be asked to discuss a mini case study during your conversation, so be prepared to jot down notes.

4. Ask questions. As you prepare for the interview, think of questions for the interviewers. This is your chance to really understand the role and whether it’s a good fit.

Job Location & Relocation

Agoda uses a hybrid workplace model, embracing the best elements of our remote and in-office culture. There’s nothing like reconnecting with our colleagues in real life as we get together for productive sessions to spark ideas, innovate and collaborate. In addition to our weekly work-from-office days, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home each week and from anywhere in the world for up to 30 calendar days a year.

Job Role & Compensation

The level you are hired into will be determined based on your interview performance and our internal benchmarking process with existing employees. However, you can share your preference with us through your recruiter. 

The salary for each analyst position will be determined based on your interview performance. Once you reach the pre-final or final interview stage, we’ll better understand your qualifications and fit for the team, allowing us to share the range with you. Agoda will also consider your previous experience, salary package, and internal benchmarking to ensure we provide you with a competitive salary. 

SHL Assessment

We’re hiring for multiple teams, each with a different cut-off. You should practice before the assessment and attempt the test to your fullest potential to increase your chances of being hired at Agoda.

The SHL assessment is designed to evaluate general analytical and cognitive capabilities and your ability to analyze evidence, draw logical conclusions, and evaluate arguments effectively.

Most analytical roles within Agoda have the SHL assessment as the first round of interviews.

Yes. The assessment link will redirect you to a practice test before the assessment. This test will help you to prepare for the evaluation.

Post SHL Assessment

While we appreciate your curiosity about your assessment scores, we cannot disclose specific numbers. Instead, you’ll receive a feedback email from our team about any potential areas you need improvement in concerning the assessment.

The interview process for analyst roles differs from team to team. Typically, the hiring manager will evaluate your profile and assessment scores. Depending on their decision, you’ll have an opportunity to talk with them directly or connect with a recruiter. Your next step may be a case study round, followed by the final conversation with the Head of the Department. Please refer to the preparation guide attached to this email for further information.

Once you complete the assessment, you’ll be redirected to a Google page. If that doesn’t happen, try to access the assessment link to check if you’ve submitted the assessment. If the evaluation is submitted, you can wait for us to send you our feedback.

The assessment is system-generated and graded. Once you complete the evaluation, a recruiter and hiring manager will review your profile; hence no updates are required from your side.

The SHL assessment is the initial round for most analytical roles, and the cut-off remains the same. However, if you find another position that suits your interests, please feel free to apply.

If you haven’t cleared the assessment, you can apply for the same role after the three-month cool-off period.
