Our interview process will require you to think like a scientist and tackle business cases effectively. To ensure that you’re approaching the questions the right way, follow the tips below:
- Repeat the question to ensure you are aligned with the interviewer. Understanding what they are asking helps you to gather the necessary information and answer accurately.
- Ensure that you have identified the correct goals for each case.
- Always have a pen and paper handy to jot down the information given to you.
- Create a clear structure for each case, and take a moment to gather your thoughts before you come up with a final answer.
- Don't be afraid to ask for clarification.
Interview Tips
1. Visit the Agoda website and mobile app. Do your research on the product, the company and our marketing strategies, and form an opinion on the user experience.
2. Prepare to be asked about SQL/Python/ R queries, basic to complex pseudo coding exercises, A/B testing, traffic, conversion, structuring a hypothesis, cannibalization, and the like. Even if this is not within your area of expertise, it is highly recommended that you do some research in advance.
3. Have a pen and paper handy — it is likely that you will be asked to discuss a mini case study during your conversation, so be prepared to jot down notes.

In my one-and-a-half years as an analyst at Agoda, I've worked with various data tools and learned how to apply data to make business decisions. When I started my role, I had little experience with data tools like SQL and Tableau, but with a growth mindset and guidance from my colleagues, it was easy to pick up the skills required for the job. In my role, I've learned to take ownership, manage end-to-end executions of my tasks, and brainstorm effective solutions for any hurdles. I've also discovered how to approach complex problems by breaking them down into smaller problems and tying the analysis together to form a storyline. Agoda uses a hybrid workplace model, embracing the best elements of our remote and in-office culture. There’s nothing like reconnecting with our colleagues in real life as we get together for productive sessions to spark ideas, innovate and collaborate. The interview process for analyst roles differs from team to team. Typically, the hiring manager will evaluate your profile and assessment scores. Depending on their decision, you’ll have an opportunity to talk with them directly or connect with a recruiter. Your next step may be a case study round, followed by the final conversation with the Head of the Department. Please refer to the preparation guide attached to this email for further information.
