Welcome to this month’s installment of Life at Agoda Highlights! In this blog series, we’ll take you inside Agoda to see what’s happening in our offices each month.
From bonding over food to winning awards, check out this wrap-up to see how we spent January at Agoda.
Celebrating our wins (and being named the #4 top company in Thailand!)
If January is any indication, we are primed for an award-winning year. Agoda ranked fourth on Work Venture’s Top 50 Companies in Thailand 2024, moving up two spots from last year. Senior members of our People team attended WorkVenture’s Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony to accept this award on behalf of Agoda.
Agoda was also named in QMAC: QGEN Thailand’s Most Attractive Companies of 2024, ranking in sixth. As Thailand is home to our largest office and a hugely diverse group of Agodans from around the world, it’s great to be recognized for the vibrant, supportive work culture that we’ve built together.
Expanding our sustainability initiatives
Following the success of our 2022 Eco Deals program launch in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund, we’ve hit a new milestone. In January, our CEO Omri Morgenshtern and Elizabeth David, WWF Singapore’s Director of Conservation, unveiled an expansion of Eco Deals at the 27th ASEAN Tourism Forum, supporting eight conservation projects in eight Southeast Asian countries.
As part of this program, Agoda will donate USD 1 for every booking made at participating hotels between March and December. So far, we’ve quadrupled our donation target to WWF Singapore to USD 1 million for their conservation projects in the region, which will go towards causes like protecting tigers in Malaysia, whale sharks in the Philippines and elephants in Thailand, among others.
Connecting with early talent
Our Agoda Campus team incubates, trains and equips early talent with career skills and helps them discover opportunities at Agoda. This month, the team attended Chulalongkorn Business School‘s Career Fair to meet with bright students and share some insights into our unique work culture, with the help of our brilliant recruiters and Marketing team members. With over 1500 students signing up for this event, it was certainly a busy afternoon. Thank you to everyone who visited the Agoda booth – we were packed from start to finish!
Reflecting on our shared purpose
At Agoda, we work hard and move fast – but always with a shared set of goals and ambitions. At this month’s Town Hall, our CEO Omri unveiled Agoda’s reimagined purpose: Bridging the world through travel. This purpose encompasses everything we do, across teams and countries, and drives us to make a global impact.
Helping our local community
After a busy 2023 filled with opportunities to uplift and support our global community through volunteering, this year is off to a great start. 10 Agodans from the IT team volunteered with Bangkok Community Help Foundation to cook 500 hot meals and pack food boxes. Our volunteers also spent time distributing food to the local community.
Sharing our love for good food and good people
At Agoda, we’re in the business of bringing people together, and few things unite us more than good food! January saw the latest instalment of the International Cuisine Evening, an annual tradition by the Agoda Bangkok Legal Team. Each person brings a dish from their native country, resulting in a uniquely delicious potluck. With more than fifteen nationalities represented within the Agoda Legal team, this fifth edition of the International Cuisine Evening was a dinner party to remember.
Begin your best journey. Agoda is hiring!
