We just wrapped up Agoda Connect, a unique community event at our Thailand office that showcased the best of Life at Agoda. Read on to see how it came together!
What was Agoda Connect?
As Agoda keeps growing, staying connected has never been more important. Though we work side by side in the office every week, it’s not always easy to keep up with all the updates and initiatives across departments. With so many cool projects in the works, we felt it was time to shine a light on them.
That’s how Agoda Connect was born. It was a one-day-only event packed with interactive booths, engaging activities, and plenty of opportunities to learn about the cool stuff happening at Agoda.
“This year marks the biggest Agoda Connect yet. What started in 2021 as a few booths during our year-end Town Hall has grown into something special,” shared Nat Chualaowanich (Internal Communications & Employer Branding Senior Specialist), who helped create this event.
“We wanted to encourage people to really explore and get involved, so we came up with a fun travel-themed twist. Everyone got a special Agoda Connect passport when they arrived. By visiting different booths, you could collect stamps to document your journey through the event and redeem a fun prize at the end too.”
Imagine a mini expo right in our own office! The goal was to spark thoughtful conversations, connect with coworkers from every corner of the company, and get a closer look at what everyone’s been working on.
A journey through the event
At the first venue, we learned more about Agoda’s Brand and the amazing things our branding team works on with celebrity campaigns, AI, and fun filters. Then, we got reminded of the Benefits we get as Agodans, shared our Life at Agoda stories, and did some exercise challenges at the Wellbeing booth. We also joined the CSR & Sustainability team to donate to important causes and played a mini game to win some prizes.
Moving on to the next venue, we got a glimpse into our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and how the Agoda Pride Employee Resource Group is making a difference through fun quizzes. We also chatted with our Compliance and IT Security teams and tested our knowledge about Agoda’s Customer Experience Group.
The final venue spotlighted Agoda’s Purpose and Referral programs. Through travel trivia and creating a joint collage of our Polaroids with our favorite reasons to travel, we celebrated our shared passion for exploring the world. Meanwhile, the Referral team showed us how we can help bring the best and brightest talent to Agoda.
Capturing memories
Our showstopper was an immersive photo installation that captured our shared purpose: Bridging the World Through Travel. As employees explored the event and snapped pictures at designated stations, their photos became part of the evolving display. Throughout the day, the installation kept shifting and transforming, creating a visual story of our collective journey. We also featured vibrant photo spots themed around Flights, Accommodations, and Activities at each venue, perfectly showcasing Agoda’s core offerings and giving everyone the perfect backdrop for their pictures.
Wrapping it up
We’re grateful for everyone who joined Agoda Connect and made the day a success. The energy never dropped, and it was an excellent reminder of the community we’ve built together at Agoda.
