Another summer has flown by, and so has our 2025 Agoda Summer Internship program! This year, we welcomed 98 brilliant students from top Thai and international universities, who joined nine departments across Agoda Bangkok for 10 weeks packed with learning and growth.

Our paid internship program is designed to give students hands-on experience, practical skills, and the confidence to succeed in their future careers, no matter what they choose to do next. Forget coffee runs or watching from the sidelines. Agoda interns take on meaningful work from day one: contributing to impactful projects, partnering with global teams, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

Want to see what they got up to this summer? Let’s take a closer look at some highlights.

Orientation Day: Starting strong

We started off the 2025 Internship Program with Orientation Day, an event dedicated to welcoming our new interns to the company. First up was an inspiring talk by Robert Vergunst (Interim Global Chief Human Resources Officer), who encouraged the interns to make the most of every opportunity during their time with Agoda. He shared personal stories and insights from his own career journey, setting an energizing tone for the day that left everyone motivated and excited to start making an impact.

Next up, Mimi Leevongcharoen (Team Lead, People Onboarding Experience) introduced interns to Agoda’s mission, values, and what to expect throughout the summer. This was followed by a talk by Shachi Madhogaria (Director of Marketing), who gave a behind-the-scenes look at Agoda’s brand and market position.

Alice Boonthumcharoen (Recruitment Programs Project Manager) then took the stage to share practical tips on communication, teamwork, and professional growth—skills that will serve our interns throughout their careers.

The final session was an interactive AI workshop led by Trish Lowe (Senior Manager of University & Recruitment Programs). With AI becoming integral in both work and daily life, Agoda encourages everyone to use it as a copilot, a tool to enhance creativity and efficiency rather than replace critical thinking. Our goal was to inspire interns to work smarter, spark new ideas, and stay curious.

To top it all off, our interns snapped new professional headshots for their LinkedIn profiles and left with plenty of Agoda merch to remember the day.

Making memories

For a personal touch, we handed out film cameras to the interns at the start of the program, so they could capture their summer adventures with a creative twist. Check out the results!

Intern Lunch & Learn Series: Growing together

Alongside their daily work, our interns expanded their knowledge through our Lunch & Learn series, hosted by Agoda leaders. This initiative provided a unique forum for professional development, where they could build essential career skills and network with peers across departments. The Lunch & Learn series consisted of three interactive workshops hosted throughout the 10-week program by Heather Mitchell Law (Director, Talent Business Partners), Matthew Greenburg (Associate Director, Talent Acquisition), and Charlie Toprak (Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition).

Each workshop blended practical tips with dynamic discussions and reflective exercises, providing actionable tools that interns could immediately apply to their current work and future careers. Our leaders covered crucial topics like strategic networking, critical thinking, and persuasive presentation skills. Together, everyone created a space for curiosity, growth, and collaboration, values that lie at the heart of Agoda’s culture.

Intern Showcase: Honoring achievements

A highlight of this year’s program was the Intern Showcase, which put a well-deserved spotlight on the exceptional work of our interns. In the final weeks of the program, interns from our Tech, Finance, and Customer Service & Support departments distilled their 10-week journeys into capstone presentations. Each intern then took the stage in front of Agoda’s senior department leaders to share their accomplishments and key takeaways, before skillfully leading an individual Q&A session.

Agoda is committed to nurturing young talent and giving them a platform to shine. This event gave our interns the chance to own their achievements, hone their presentation skills, and connect with senior leadership—a challenge they all met with tremendous professionalism and poise.

National Intern Day: Celebrating the journey

We couldn’t let our interns leave without one last celebration! In honor of National Intern Day, we threw a big farewell event to close out their summer. This was our time to honor their hard work, reflect on how they’ve grown, and wish them well in their future endeavors.

The night kicked off with Agoda leaders sharing their appreciation and encouragement for our interns’ next steps. Everyone was presented with a certificate to recognize their achievements, and the room was buzzing as interns exchanged friendship cards and battled it out in a fun quiz night. It was the perfect send-off for an exceptional cohort, sending them on their way with new skills, new connections, and a whole lot of Agoda pride.

Their summer program may be over, but the impact our interns made is here to stay. Here’s what they had to say about their experience:

Panurut (Nine) Sirinapaisan

Software Engineer Intern
Partner Communication Team (Supply Digital Marketing), Tech
Studying Computer Engineering at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi

During my internship at Agoda, I joined a team dedicated to making communication with our business partners more effective and engaging. I worked on several exciting projects, such as developing and testing new ways to send notifications and create interactive messages within our platform.

My responsibilities ranged from building new features that help partners stay informed to improving the systems behind the scenes so everything runs smoothly. This meant collaborating with both technical experts and business specialists, which gave me a well-rounded view of how different parts of the company work together to solve real-world problems.

Throughout this experience, I picked up valuable skills in software development, like writing and testing code, working with modern programming languages, and understanding how to ensure data is accurate and useful. I was fortunate to receive guidance from experienced teammates who were always ready to help, whether it was reviewing my work or brainstorming solutions to tricky challenges.

The highlight of my time here was seeing our team’s hard work pay off when we successfully launched a new feature after weeks of teamwork and problem-solving. It was a proud and unforgettable moment.

What stood out to me most about Agoda was its supportive and collaborative culture: everyone is eager to share knowledge and celebrate each other’s successes. I always looked forward to our daily team check-ins and casual chats, which made even the busiest days enjoyable.

Nattha (Khim) Pomankul

Public Policy Research Intern
Global Government Affairs Team, Global Affairs
Studying Japanese at Chulalongkorn University

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to work as a Public Policy Research Intern with Agoda’s Global Government Affairs Team, where I explored the intersection of travel tech, policy, and public-private partnerships across Asia-Pacific.

My main projects included building Agoda’s APAC Policy Tracker to monitor regulations in 10 markets, authoring a cross-market publication on platform regulation trends, streamlining knowledge-sharing through a centralized GA Confluence page, and supporting stakeholder engagement with Thai and international government partners.

Along the way, I developed hard skills in policy research and analysis, academic writing, government affairs, cross-functional collaboration, bilingual (EN/TH) communication, and soft skills in project management, diplomatic communication, and stakeholder engagement.

Agoda’s international, supportive, and fast-paced culture empowered me to take ownership of my work from day one.

Beyond the work, my experience was shaped by the people around me. My manager’s one-on-one mentorship went far beyond technical advice: they offered life lessons and the kind of guidance you only get from someone who truly cares about your growth. My most memorable moments were the Lunch & Learn sessions organized by the Campus Team, where managers from different departments shared career insights and hosted fun games and activities that brought us interns closer together. The guidance from my manager, the encouragement from my team, and the friendship with fellow interns made this 10-week internship the best professional experience I’ve ever had.

Kaung Zaw Win

Creative Campaign Production Intern
Brand Creative Team, Marketing
Studying Digital Media and Design at Bangkok University International College

As a design intern, my main task was creating creative visuals for Agoda’s website and social media platforms. But my role went far beyond that—I also did research, analysis, AI testing, created proposals, and observed branding trends, all of which had a real impact on Agoda’s branding strategy. I received so much mentorship from my seniors and managers, and learned a lot from my fellow interns. It was truly a wonderful experience, and I built a strong network during my time at Agoda.

What I love most about working at Agoda is the amazing work-life balance and the positive, productive, and peaceful environment. And of course, working at a central location comes with its own perks: great food, shopping, and a premium workspace! My most memorable moment was definitely my last day: presenting my final project to the creative team, taking a group photo together, and receiving an awesome gift and heartfelt farewell letters. It was such a lovely and memorable day.

My internship at Agoda has been one of my most exciting and meaningful experiences, not just as a visual designer, but as a person.

As part of the Brand Creative Team, I got to work on many varied projects, from creating key visuals for global campaigns and seasonal events to conducting brand research, competitor analysis, and testing AI tools like Midjourney, Veo3, and Runway. On top of designing for Agoda’s website and social media, I developed proposals, explored new branding ideas, and presented my final “Brand Observation” project, which aimed to improve Agoda’s visual identity and campaign strategies.

I feel so lucky to have had mentors and managers who guided me every step of the way, and I learned so much from collaborating and sharing ideas with my fellow interns.

What really impressed me about Agoda was the culture: a perfect balance of productivity, creativity, and genuine care. My last day, presenting my wrap-up project, taking a group photo, and receiving those heartfelt farewell letters and a special gift, was the perfect way to end this incredible journey.

Charana (Wave) Sukrot

Full-Stack Software Engineer Intern
Supply Discount Team, Tech
Studying Information Technology at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi

During my internship with Agoda’s Supply Discount team, I supported the promotion page and encouraged hotels to create promotions or offer discounts. We worked together on experiments and A/B testing for UX/UI changes, always aiming for the same objectives.

Throughout my time here, I learned a lot of technical skills, not just from self-learning but also from my teammates, mentors, and everyone in the company. It was really cool that I could ask anyone for help! I’d always heard that teamwork is essential, but this internship showed me what that truly means in a professional environment. I received a lot of mentorship and guidance from my teammates, mentors, and seniors. They gave me great advice, not only about tech, but also about my mindset and personal growth.

Agoda’s culture is all about learning by trying: we’re given the space and tools to help us grow, and if the process is good, the product will be good too!

My favorite thing about working here is the opportunity to fail and learn (and, honestly, the free Coke Zero always makes my day).

One of my most memorable moments happened during the first month of my internship, when I felt a lot of pressure to succeed and found myself struggling with even the simplest tasks. One day, I encountered a problem with rebasing in Git and asked my senior for advice. He told me, “Yeah, you can create a new branch, but I really want you to keep trying to fix it. You’re an intern, right? It’s good to learn.” That simple sentence pushed me to try a bit harder, and when I finally fixed it, it felt amazing. I realized it’s okay to fail, as long as you learn from it and keep moving forward.

Chatchanon (Chain) Promme

Project Management Intern
Travel Platform Team / Flights Team, Customer Service & Support
Studying Marketing at Chulalongkorn University

During my internship with the Travel Platform Team at Agoda, we worked to enable change and improve processes within Agoda’s supporting products: Flights and Activities. I spent most of my time working closely with the Product Team and expert project managers in Flights on a process automation project. In just two months, I learned to use various tools and automation techniques that improved customer experience and boosted efficiency!

Through my internship, I became much more familiar with essential data tools like SQL and honed my problem-solving skills by learning to think critically and adapt my approach as needed. The best part was that learning at Agoda is never a solo journey. Most of the knowledge I gained came from collaborating with other teams and reaching out to experts and stakeholders.

Mentorship and guidance were always available. As an intern, I never once felt like Agodans weren’t willing to help. The support system here is a huge part of what makes Agoda’s culture so great. It encourages you to ask questions, take ownership, and make mistakes without fear.

What I love about working here is that nobody expects you to be perfect, especially as an intern. Instead, you’re encouraged to experiment and take ownership of your work. Mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, and your team is always there to support you. This perspective really helps you learn and grow.

My most memorable moment was the intern showcase! Every intern had the chance to present their project, which was a fantastic opportunity to see what others were working on and the impact they were making. I remember practicing presentations with fellow interns, helping each other put our best foot forward for the showcase, and we even got free ice cream that day!
