All of us want to find purpose in what we do at work. It’s what keeps us showing up, day after day. Purpose helps us understand why the company exists, what it hopes to contribute to the world, and how each of us can play a part in building that future. For me, Agoda’s purpose of ‘bridging the world through travel’ resonates deeply, personally and professionally. A year ago, I made a life-changing decision to relocate with my family from London to Bangkok because of this purpose. It was a leap of faith, but one that felt right.
Moving to a new country, adapting to a new culture, and building a new life is never easy. But the experience has been incredibly rewarding. The warmth and hospitality of the people here, both within Agoda and the local community, have made the transition seamless. My family and I have felt welcomed and supported every step of the way.
This journey has reinforced my belief in the power of bridges – both literal and metaphorical.
The Bridges We Build Every Day
Bridges have always been my favorite architectural structure. They symbolize hope, wonder, and adventure. They embody the idea of making connections, transitioning to new opportunities, and overcoming obstacles.
Bridges are not just physical structures. They are metaphors for progress, collaboration, and unity. They connect us to new opportunities, new perspectives, and new possibilities. They remind us that while the world is vast, it is also deeply interconnected.
In many ways, that’s exactly what the Legal team at Agoda does. Whether it’s advising, contracting, negotiating, managing risks, or resolving disputes, our work consistently ladders up (or rather, bridges!) to our shared purpose. We help connect people, ideas, and opportunities, ensuring that Agoda can continue to achieve the right results, the right way.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of an awesome team that is building bridges each day, bringing the world closer through travel. The Legal team at Agoda is a group of talented, passionate individuals from diverse nationalities and expertise. The team works across borders, time zones, and cultures to ensure that Agoda operates responsibly, ethically, and sustainably. We navigate complex regulatory landscapes, negotiate partnerships, and manage risks.
