Welcome to the September 2024 edition of Life at Agoda Highlights! In this blog series, we take you inside Agoda to discover our culture and see what’s happening in our offices each month.
From career fairs to sports competitions, here’s how we enjoyed our Life at Agoda this month.
Expanding Agoda Tech Camp Day
In partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), we hosted our fifth Agoda Tech Camp Day, marking the first time the event was held outside Bangkok, in Chiang Mai. Despite challenging weather, over 40 Tech Team members flew in to work with 320 students from five universities across northern Thailand.
Students learned how to develop applications using LINE Chatbot and participated in interactive sessions with Agoda. This milestone event was our first to include international students and offer bilingual sessions in both English and Thai.
Volunteering with local communities
Agoda volunteers teamed up with WWF Malaysia for an environmental event at Putrajaya Wetlands Park, focusing on water conservation and waste management. In Budapest, our volunteers worked hard to clean up Szent István Park.
In Bangkok, we partnered with Scholars of Sustenance Thailand to prepare and serve meals using ingredients saved from hotels and restaurants across the city. We also worked with The Man That Rescues Dogs Sanctuary to paint and decorate their shelter expansion area in Si Racha, Chonburi.
Sharing Life at Agoda with fresh talent
We connected with talented job seekers at career fairs in both South Korea and Malaysia. After the success of the Global Talent Fair in Seoul, where our recruiters engaged with over 100 local and international candidates, conducting interviews and sharing exclusive Agoda swag and stories about life at Agoda, we attended the 2024 Tourism Job Festa in September.
Meanwhile, at the MCTF Malaysia Career & Training Fair, we were awarded Best Booth and met over 1,500 attendees. We conducted interviews for Customer Experience roles and promoted exciting opportunities in our Tech and Supply departments.
Enjoying sports together
Life at Agoda doesn’t just end at the office. This month, Agodans hit the court for our lively annual badminton tournament, hosted by the Agodaminton Life Group. It was a fun day filled with friendly competition, laughter, and plenty of smashing shots. Congratulations to the winners!
The Agoda Football Club also represented the company at an inter-company football competition in Bangkok, playing against teams from Bitkub, Honest, Lineman Wongnai, Opn, and Rabbit Care. With skill, determination, and teamwork, they powered through the matches and brought home an impressive second-place finish.
Brushing up on our security knowledge
Agoda Security Day 2024 was a full-day event dedicated to expanding our cybersecurity knowledge and skills, with a variety of sessions, games, talks, simulations, and a fast-paced Kahoot quiz offering plenty of great prizes.
Getting inspired at Agoda Connect
Agodans in Bangkok experienced a day of discovery, learning, and fun at Agoda Connect 2024! The immersive event spanned four venues in our largest office, featuring over 10 interactive booths hosted by various teams like Life at Agoda, Customer Experience, CSR, Wellness and Benefits, Agoda Pride, and more! It was the perfect opportunity to learn about exciting projects happening at Agoda and how we’re working to bridge the world through travel.
Honoring our value champions
As part of Supply Team Recognition Week, we honored colleagues who best embodied Agoda’s core values. These Agodans were recognized for their dedication and contributions, demonstrating what it means to uphold our values in their work and daily life at Agoda. The event was celebrated across our Central and Emerging Markets offices, including Bangkok, Barcelona, London, and Berlin, with panel discussions, workshops, and celebratory meals.
