At Agoda, we have over 2,000 employees based in Bangkok, with an estimated 40% of them having relocated from countries like Australia, China, the UK and USA to come work for us.
What inspired them to make the leap and relocate? And what do they love about life in Bangkok?

Behind the Scenes of Life in Bangkok
Bangkok is a city bursting with different sights, sounds, tastes and textures. The hard task for us was figuring out how could we best convey the many vibrant layers of the city and showcase authentic experiences of living and working in Bangkok?
We turned to our 2,000+ Bangkok-based employees for help.
Launching an employee video contest, we asked Agodans to film their lives in Bangkok – from everyday experiences like travelling to work and sending their kids to school, to weekend activities like visiting a trampoline park and feeding elephants in Chiang Mai. In just over eight weeks, we received hundreds of video entries from our employees filmed on smartphones and GoPros.
To help tie the employee-generated footage together, we decided to focus the narrative around the story of three Agodans. By holding listening sessions with Agodans who volunteered to share their unique relocation stories, we were able to narrow the list down to Katie from the UK, Dario from Italy and Tommy from the USA.
What you see in the final video is a three-minute mosaic of employee-generated videos, one-on-one interviews and stunning aerial footage of the city of Bangkok – from the Chao Phraya river to the MakaNakhon, Bangkok’s tallest building.
