At Agoda, our interviews are designed to understand how you think, solve problems, and approach real-world challenges. 

We generally use the CAR method (Context – Action – Results) to guide competency-based questions. You may be asked to share examples from your past experiences, answer theoretical questions to explore your reasoning and technical skills, or work through case studies that mirror real Agoda business scenarios. 

Our goal isn’t to hear a perfect answer. We want to see your thought process, creativity, and ability to refine your solutions as you go.

Our Interview Process 

Phase 1 – Assessment

We use various assessments to evaluate a candidate’s fit for the role and alignment with Agoda’s culture. These assessments measure leadership and communication styles, analytical and qualitative skills, strategic thinking, ability to handle stress, and other key factors for managerial success. 

Phase 2 – Video Interviews 

Most candidates will go through two rounds of video interviews before progressing to the final stages. 

Phase 3 – Face-to-Face Interviews 

When possible, we encourage you to meet our key stakeholders and experience what it’s like to work in Agoda’s offices 

How to use AI for your Interview

Avoid invisible AI

Background AI tools that work without interviewer knowledge are not allowed, e.g real-time answer rewriters.

Know role-specific limits

Some parts of the process (e.g., live system design, technical Q&A, and behavioral interviews) must be completed without AI, unless specifically asked or encouraged to.

When Applying

Start by drafting your materials independently—your real experience is what matters most. Then, it’s fine to use AI tools to polish and clarify your writing.

Example prompt: “Review my resume and the job description. Highlight the experiences I should emphasize in my cover letter that best match the role.” 

For Take-Home Assessments

Complete these on your own without the use of AI, unless we clearly state AI assistance is allowed. This helps us fairly evaluate your genuine skills. We will always communicate if AI use is permitted during an assessment. 

Preparing for Interviews 

Feel free to use AI to research Agoda, practice answers, and prepare thoughtful questions for us.

Example prompt: “Create a study guide for interviewing at Agoda, including key topics about travel innovation, our customer-focused approach, and typical technical or behavioral questions.”
