Bangkok is a city that offers a unique blend of culture, adventure, and modern living. Whether you’re exploring its culinary delights, engaging in outdoor activities, or enjoying its rich cultural heritage, Bangkok has something for everyone.

It is also home to more than 3,000 Agodans, including over 1,000 expats who moved to work here from around the world. In this blog post, four Agodans share what they like about living in Bangkok.

I find the city vibrant, bustling, and full of friendly people and smiles. Exploring local markets has been a must for me to truly experience Thai cuisine, especially the spicy dishes, though I also appreciate the amazing Western cuisine available here.

My condo offers a luxurious lifestyle with a gym, rooftop pool, sauna, and green spaces. I love spending time in the new forest park in the heart of the city, which is also dog-friendly. Participating in a pickleball tournament and hosting a cookout with my colleagues have been some of my memorable experiences.

Thailand offers diverse travel opportunities, from the foothills of the Himalayas in the north to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. I encourage everyone to take the leap and discover Bangkok’s welcoming atmosphere and everything it has to offer.

Working at Agoda also feels more like being part of a community than just a company, with highly capable people making our transition easy. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of life in Bangkok. Our mornings can start with a walk in the nearby park. When the weather is hot, we can easily visit malls for coffee or shopping. As a family, we also enjoy indoor playgrounds, cinemas, and the unique aquarium Bangkok has to offer.

We love the culinary scene here, which ranges from three-star Michelin restaurants to diverse international cuisines. Bangkok as a location has everything we were looking for: high quality of living, affordable yet high-quality amenities, and excellent education.

I find Bangkok to be a melting pot of culture, where tradition meets modernity. I enjoy balancing active pursuits like Muay Thai and bouldering with more relaxing activities such as visiting exhibitions and art galleries.

It’s also easy to go on a weekend getaway. One of my adventures included a trip to Kanchanaburi, where I rented a car for a 2.5-hour drive to hike the Erawan waterfalls and paddle-board on the River Kwai. I encourage everyone to pack their bags and let Bangkok welcome them with open arms.
