The opportunity:
This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Agoda Supply Team Supply while working on a Japan localization research project for the Japan market.
As a Japan Localization & Supply Operations Intern, you will support day-to-day operational tasks across different Supply functions and learn how Agoda manages hotel setup, onboarding, and platform readiness. In parallel, you will take ownership of a project focused on making Agoda’s platform more domestic-friendly for Japanese users. You will explore what makes the platform intuitive, relevant, and easy to use from a Japanese customer perspective, and present your findings and recommendations to the Japan leadership team at the end of the internship.
This role is ideal for students who are curious, detail-oriented, analytical, and excited to learn how local market insight can connect with real business operations in one of the world’s fastest-growing tech companies.
In this role, you’ll get to:

Take ownership of a localization research project focused on improving Agoda’s platform experience for Japanese users

Explore what makes a platform more domestic-friendly, intuitive, and user-friendly from a Japanese customer perspective

Conduct research, organize insights, and develop practical recommendations for improvement

Present your findings and recommendations to the team at the end of the internship

Gain hands-on experience in day-to-day Supply operations across multiple functions

Support detailed hotel setup / property onboarding tasks

Learn how Agoda manages partner setup, content quality, and operational readiness across different workflows

Work closely with team members across different functions and contribute to process efficiency and execution quality

Provide the team with constructive feedback and observations from both an operational and local user perspective
What you’ll need to succeed:
-
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (3rd or 4th year) and able to maintain student status throughout the internship period

Available to participate in the full internship program from 27 July to 18 September 2026 (7 weeks)

Demonstrates strong passion and curiosity for both the travel tech industry and Agoda
-
Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)

High attention to detail with the ability to manage operational tasks accurately

Possesses structured, logical thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities

Analytical mindset with a strong willingness to learn and improve

Proficient in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
-
Positive attitude with openness to learning, adapting, and working in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable working in a dynamic, multicultural environment

Interest in areas such as localization, user experience (UX), operations, or the travel technology industry
It’s great if you have:

Interest in Japanese consumer behavior, localization, or digital user experience

Familiarity with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and Pivot Tables

Previous internship, part-time, research, or project experience in operations, hospitality, e-commerce, technology, or customer experience
