Welcome to the March installment of Life at Agoda Highlights! In this blog series, we’ll take you inside Agoda to see what’s happening in our offices each month.

March took us from the dance floor to the classroom and everywhere in between. Read on to see what we got up to!

Celebrating Women’s History Month

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Women@Agoda Employee Resource Group put together an event series to inspire inclusivity and spark conversation, with an open invitation for all employees to take part. The Women in Leadership program hosted a talk with Siew Hoon Yeoh sharing insights from her career journey as the founder and editor of Web in Travel, along with a panel featuring Agoda leaders. Next, Elicia Bester led a thought-provoking session on gender roles and their impact on mental health. To round off the month, we were proud to have Aanchal Gupta, our global DEI Lead, representing us on a panel about driving inclusion alongside our sister companies, Booking.com and Priceline.

Enjoying Agodafest worldwide

Our annual staff party is the highlight of the Agoda social calendar, with celebrations hosted across our global offices. In March, we kicked things off with AgodaFest parties in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Bangkok, with many more to come. This year’s theme was Carnival Night, and each country put their own spin on it, with performances from dancers, acrobats, magicians, musicians, and our very own Agodans. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Agoda party without great food, activities, and prizes – including tech gadgets and travel vouchers for one-of-a-kind trips.

To get in the AgodaFest spirit, we also hosted a pre-event parade in our Bangkok office, complete with clowns, jugglers, and balloon artists. Our leaders were on duty to hand out refreshments and put their circus skills to the test!

Empowering future tech leaders

We hosted the third installment of Agoda Tech Camp Day in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation in Thailand.

Building upon the success of hosting over 1,000 high school students in 2024, we’ve proudly expanded our tech education initiative to the world of higher education. This time, we welcomed 150 students from 17 universities across Bangkok. Students got to learn the fundamentals of developing everyday applications using LINE Chat Bot, network with our Tech team and take an exclusive tour of our office. For this session, we also welcomed Suksit Srichomkwan, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, and Suchada Thaensap, Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

Supporting local communities

Budapest Agodans volunteered their time to a river clean-up at the Danube Bank, helping to restore the beauty of this cherished local landmark. Agoda Thailand brought more than 40 volunteers to clean up Lat Phrao Canal with Terracycle, successfully collecting over 2,240 kilograms of waste. Our Japan team taught a virtual English class to students in Zambia, combining language learning with the universal language of music.
