Role Overview:

As Associate Director in Indonesia your main objectives will be to support the Country Director to develop and deploy Agoda’s Indonesia strategy, provide guidance and leadership to ensure the successful account management of Agoda’s major partners, and to deliver on targets and growth expectations that form a key part of Agoda’s business goals.

This role will have a strong focus on driving the domestic business in Indonesia

Associate Directors in Agoda are seen as the second in command for any country able to step up as a Country Directors when required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Country Strategy:  Support the Country Director to develop and implement the strategy to accelerate Agoda’s business in Indonesia.
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with top hotel partners and chains, negotiating favorable terms and driving mutual growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the team in Jakarta as well as potentially  some teams in Bali, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, using insights to inform strategic decisions, and report to top management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Deliver on country commercial and profitability targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and customer service, to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • External Representation: attend and participate in relevant industry events

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Tech industry (e.g. E-commerce, Fintech, Travel tech, etc.)
  • Experience in Business Development, General Management or Other Commercial roles
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Ability to work with international teams
  • Strategic thinker, experience in management consulting or MBA is a plus
  • Familiarity with Indonesia travel market is a plus
