Agoda’s Legal team is well suited to take on the challenges presented, adopting a proactive mindset to tackle challenges and solve problems. We hire out-of-the-box thinkers who are well-grounded in ethics and legal knowledge to ensure that Agoda achieves the right results the right way.
The Opportunity:
Agoda is seeking a talented and motivated generalist lawyer to serve as regional counsel for Agoda North America. This role will report directly into the Head of Legal for The Americas and primarily focus on North America operations for Agoda. The scope of legal work is expected to be both diverse and cross-functional, covering areas such as commercial, intellectual property, regulatory, litigation, product, and tax. This opportunity calls for a proactive and hands-on approach to legal counsel. This role will be based in our New York City office, with a hybrid working model that encourages an in-office presence at least two (2) days per week.
In this Role, you’ll get to:
- Support a variety of regional legal matters and special projects in connection with Agoda’s North America Accommodations business operations.
- Take ownership of reviewing, drafting, negotiating and advising responsibilities for variety of agreements relating to distribution, supply, software services, vendors and technology/licensing/development.
- Provide strategic business and legal advice on US-specific litigation and regulatory matters, including coordination with our parent company and cross-brand counsel colleagues.
- Manage and resolve legal escalations stemming from customer and/or business partner engagements.
- Work directly with the Head of Legal, The Americas, the growing NYC-based Legal team, the global Agoda Legal team (largely based in Bangkok, Thailand), cross-brand counsel at the other Booking Holdings brands, external counsel, and numerous internal stakeholders across the business.
What you’ll Need to Succeed:
- J.D., from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission, in good standing, to at least one State Bar (New York preferred).
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant generalist or diversified legal experience at a top-tier law firm and with the in-house legal department of a global company.
- Candidates with experience in the travel, hospitality or other related tech industries, as in-house counsel, are preferred.

- The ability to navigate deliverables across varying time zones and differing departments within Agoda.

- The ability to work independently and to prioritize workload.
There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.
The annual salary range for the NYC-metro area is $165,000-$185,000.
