The Opportunity:

Collection and Analytics function is responsible for collection of overdue payments/ penalties from hotel partners for various product offerings. It also provides analytical support on various data requirements and is also responsible for collections MIS and reporting activities. This function is also responsible for end to end management of Agoda’s external Debt Collection Affiliates.

This team is expanding, and we are looking for Collections Specialists to be based out of Bangkok, Thailand. Collection Specialists would be responsible for processing invoices and contacting customers regarding overdue payments and AR penalties. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining collection data logs, preparation of MIS reports and working on other collection related back office activities


  • Lead collections for specific product/s by following up directly with counterparties, and working closely with your team on problematic cases and guiding them to improve overall collections
  • Interpret and quickly learn new processes/ products getting assigned to the team, and set up collection workflows
  • Take the lead in the implementation of various collection projects. Should have a brief understanding of how automations can be initiated. Work closely and liaison with product, IT, and other stakeholders to highlight problem areas, build business cases, and work closely with them in implementing the agreed solutions
  • Responsible for preparing periodic reports that measure the efficiency and productivity of Collection workflows managed by your team
  • Deliver analytical based collection strategy and actions through test to refine and increase the collection productivity and effectiveness.
  • Approach challenges in a passionate, innovative, and decisive manner
  • You should function as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed, sharing best practices, and learning from colleagues and supervisors, support the goals of the department, manage various projects as mandated from time to time and demonstrate initiatives in the long-term interest of Agoda.


Experience & Qualifications:               

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or any related fields
  • Minimum 4+ years of overall work experience and Industry experience with finance would be preferred
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-paced working environment
  • Target-oriented and able to meet deadlines
  • Confident, proactive and take personal ownership of task completions
  • Good project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and conceptualize requirements
  • Should understand the tech landscape to know automations workflow
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Microsoft VBA Skills
  • Knowledge of SQL and Tableau would be an added advantage
  • Should be a team-player and open to working cordially with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Possess excellent communication and influencing skills, as well as an ability to work independently on various projects aimed at maximizing collections and reducing bad debts for the organization
