We now use AI in many areas, from generating hotel descriptions to improving customer support systems with tools like the property page Q&A bot.

One of AI’s most exciting future applications will be its role in improving search and personalization. Travel is a deeply personal experience, and our goal is to provide users with recommendations that align with their preferences. AI is a game changer for search; that much is already clear. At Agoda, we believe the process of search and selection will shift from being structured and fixed to something far more flexible, where users can input free-form text to find exactly what they’re looking for.
We don’t see the future as purely free text or purely structured, but a balance between the two. Clicking a button is often faster, but when someone has something specific in mind, it’s usually easier to type it out than to navigate a long list of filters that don’t quite fit.
This evolution presents exciting opportunities for Agoda. First, it gives us a new way to tap into our data effectively. When we understand customer intent more clearly, we can match them with the right options more effectively. Second, it helps us learn what users actually care about, insights we haven’t been able to surface in the past.
