We are looking for world class development managers to lead our Booking Form app engineering team and bring it to where it belongs: the number one spot. The development manager role at Agoda is one of the most significant and challenging roles at the company. The right candidate should be extremely hands-on, technically excellent and well versed on solid engineering principles as well as exhibit strong leadership and people development skills.
Booking Form app is one of Agoda’s core teams, due to its mission to improve the user experience and to drive business growth through optimization and new features development. As the team’s development manager, you will be responsible of ensuring the team maintains great execution and taking it to the next level, drive design decisions, define and implement a strategy to adopt the latest technologies, and last but not least to lead and facilitate each engineer’s professional growth.
It’s vital to have a love of engineering and a passion for building things. As a development manager, you will be responsible for working together with product managers, shape and execute project, lead technical decisions, guide and review the development team’s work, and at times get more hands-on.
We strongly believe in a full-stack approach in engineering teams, as such you’ll not only have a direct impact on the design of native client-side applications (iOS and Android), but you will also be able to drive further adoption of cross-platform technologies, and gain exposure to, and experience with all parts of the technology stack: back-end, data, analytics, infrastructure, etc. You will also play a crucial role in coordinating with other stakeholders, as well as reporting to senior leadership, and help make strategic decisions which will take the company to the next level.
As a technology company, we keep up with the latest ideas and innovations and make key decisions on when to adopt, when to follow and when to innovate. Previous experience of making the right choices will be required as you will be responsible for the technical direction of our fastest growing asset: the Agoda mobile app. As such, you’ll be expected to stay in touch with where the latest industry trends, and have strong opinions about how systems should be engineered, evolved, and maintained

Being able to recruit other A-players and integrating them into the business will also be important.
What you’ll Need to Succeed:
- Extremely proficient in both Swift and Kotlin languages
- Experienced with, or interested in learning cross-platform technologies and frameworks such as Kotlin Multiplaform, React Native, Flutter, NativeScript, Ionic
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus (e.g. Objective-C, Java, C#, Scala)
- Extremely proficient in modern coding practices (dependency injection, reactive programming, MVVM, design patterns)
- Passionate about technology and mobile apps
- Experience working in a successful agile development team
- Able to take full responsibility for the product – from early planning stages to deployment and maintenance.
