Position Summary:

As Business Development Manager, your key objective is to guide expansion of Priceline-Agoda’s North American network of hotel partnerships by creating and managing a strategic business plan for growth – with core duties including new hotel solicitation, product positioning, negotiation, contracting,  onboarding, and supply recovery. You will be expected to analyze dynamic lists of thousands of targeted hotels, outline a strategy for recruitment, educate potential partners on marketing and other benefits of the Agoda platform, effectively negotiate participation levels, commissions, and other terms of the contracts with your selected hotels, and prepare them for successful activation.

You will use your experience in the hotel/travel industry, sales, marketing, procurement, strategic planning, and e-commerce to effectively position the unique Priceline-Agoda products and services to secure new partners, as well as your experience in negotiation to ensure that favorable terms are reached. You are an excellent decision-maker and manager of time and demonstrate your understanding of the value of call/meeting volumes, follow ups, and securing commitments from targets using perseverance as well as your sound analytical and business planning skills. Your adaptable style and consultative skills will be key to ensuring that hotels with varying levels of technological sophistication will understand the value of a Priceline-Agoda partnership, and ultimately ensure you are successful in securing important hotel supply. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to recruit and new partners by analyzing a territory/market’s potential.
  • Expand network of hotel partnerships by effectively positioning unique products and services through phone calls and in-person meetings.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and convincingly explain the strategic benefits of the Agoda products to grow bookings, revenues and gross profit in assigned markets.
  • Negotiate and contract with new partners, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that support your business development plan.
  • Manage existing leads and prioritize them to generate a continuous flow of client acquisition.
  • Work with external teams to maximize and manage robust pipeline.
  • Facilitate onboarding of non-contracted partner hotels.
  • Use out-of-the-box thinking to develop and implement solutions to unique challenges. 
  • Prepare presentations and marketing materials tailored to the client’s needs.
  • Manage regular weekly/monthly internal reports.
  • Manage and improve upon internal team operation processes.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record in new client acquisition, preferably in travel industry, with at least 3 years of experience
  • Highly motivated, goal-orientated and self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence external/internal stakeholders
  • Ability to research, prepare and communicate various proposals to potential hotel partners
  • Strong business planning skills including problem-solving and analysis
  • Adapts well to – and is energized by – changing and dynamic workplace and industry
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Travel: 10-25% overnight travel

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Schedule: Typical work days are Monday through Friday, work hours to be confirmed with your manager
