The Opportunity:
A strong candidate will relish the opportunity to jump into a highly visible workstream that drives significant impact. You are an empathetic people manager, a thought leader, and skilled in design operations management. Additionally, you’re gifted in UI design, are customer-centered, and love turning quantitative and qualitative findings into insights and strategy to drive product priorities.
Experience Requirements & Role Expectations:
- 2+ years of experience of design management or relevant design leadership role
- Has experience of managing design team for enterprise-facing products
As Design Manager for our Supply Products, you will help your product stakeholders to shape and execute the vision for both Agoda business and our hotel partners through design leadership and strategic contributions. Due to the high complexity and ambiguity of the supply product domain, you’ll need to actively build connections with different function departments of the whole supply business so that you will be able to keep track on the business journey and maximize the mutual success between Agoda and hotel partners. And, you’ll also be driving supply user research strategies through deep understandings on both short term and long term business priorities.
Team Size and Your Responsibility:
You’ll be managing a team of 3~4 product designers/senior product designers
Your responsibility will be:

- Manage scope of work for your team, and you determine how to divide work amongst designers.
- Leading design strategy for complex initiatives and growing design leaders
- Driving design vs business objectives and measurement alignment on core product initiatives that design team or product team drives
- You ensure successful execution by your team. You surface and address questions, bottlenecks, dependencies, and conflicts as they arise, working with stakeholders when needed. You ensure high quality design decisions are made.
- You maintain and apply a process for effective design.
- You take steps to build a healthy, high performing, capability-complete team. You hire designers to fill open headcount. You foster a positive culture on your team.
- You coach and mentor your direct reports to make sure they hone their competencies and grow in their careers.
- Leading projects and groups to define and sell a coherent medium to long term vision, with milestones and short term actions to get there. Is building the design organization as a focus for wider company vision and strategy.
- You represent your team upwards to your manager: you ensure the team’s priorities are well understood, you advocate for them, and you flag any underperformers, stakeholder misalignments, or other challenges they face.
- Partnering with a design leadership team to help shape management practices, and mentoring other design leaders to put those in practice
